By Rubén Morales Iglesias: All of Belize City Southside has been experiencing water interruptions since Monday and these will continue overnight until Wednesday.
On Monday at 6:51 pm, Belize Water Services Limited (BWSL) reported an “unplanned water interruption due to electrical malfunction at the Southside Pump Station for today Monday, August 1, 2022” saying water would be restored to the entire Southside by 9:00 pm.
That interruption also affected “portions of the George Price Highway, including Westlake, Sunset, and Western Pines communities”. On Tuesday morning BWSL again made reference to the electric malfunction saying water would be restored by 9:00 am, but a little later BWSL said there would be three more interruptions on Tuesday: from 10:00 am-12:00 noon, from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm, and from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am. As you can see, the last interruption is overnight and runs into Wednesday, August 3.
BWSL said “Customers may experience some discoloration in their water supply throughout the day,” but that’s more like “colouration”.
The water company apologized for the inconvenience.
