Four suspected in Alrick Smith murder; ‘woman business,’ internal gang rivalry to blame

By Aaron Humes: The murder of Alrick Smith last Thursday night has left a tangled web for Police to unpick.

Four men are presently being sought said the Commissioner of Police Chester Williams. One was previously held but released and is being sought again after further information was obtained, and three other alleged associates are also on the run.

According to the Commissioner, an internal rivalry developed over a woman’s affections is alleged to be behind Smith’s execution on Slaughterhouse Road.

The Commissioner also stated he had personally called down the team of officers sent to arrest a Corporal of Police who drives for a Government official because he was satisfied the officer had nothing to do with the Smith murder.

We’ll have more on why the Commissioner vouches for this officer and where the investigation stands later on.
