By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Monday, the official gazette published that Mexican President, Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador expropriated 269 acres of land for the construction of the Tren Maya, Reuters report.

The 930-mile line is already being built with the purpose of linking the tourist zones and the President has dubbed the project a matter of national security.
