Cayo police bust minor with drugs and ammunition

By Benjamin Flowers: Cayo police have detained a minor on drug trafficking and firearms charges.

Police say that yesterday, August 3, officers in Benque Viejo Town intercepted a 17-year-old male and searched his backpack.

Inside, they found eight sealed plastic bags containing 9.53 pounds of marijuana and a small box containing 30 live rounds of 5.56 ammunition.

The minor is presently detained pending charges for keeping ammunition without a gun license, and possession of controlled drugs with intent to supply.

We note that the marijuana was contained in bags labeled “Cookies” which is a popular brand of marijuana sold legally in the United States.
