New Seine Bight Welcome Center coming soon

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On Wednesday, August 3, 2022, the Belize Tourism Board (BTB) unveiled the Seine Bight Welcome Center at the current Seine Bight Police Station. 

The BTB says that the project will give the area a complete makeover with lighting, landscaping, and relocation of the Police Station to a new building. 

The community will now have a place to display culture and heritage as the new infrastructure will include:

• A 2500 sq. ft. open concept welcome center for a Garifuna culture museum
• A 500 sq. ft. mini-amphitheater entertainment center with a seating area for drumming and performances

The Welcome Center will also feature vendor booths for food and artists.

There will also be a  walkway from the road up to the sea. The project is expected to be completed in 9 months.
