By Rubén Morales Iglesias: This week fifteen women from the villages of San Narciso and San Victor in the Corozal District received two days of training on Poultry Health Management for Subsistence Farmers, said the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security, and Enterprise (MAFSE).
“The women, who are beneficiaries under the Rural Resilient Belize project, received training on proper bio-security and husbandry practices,” said MAFSE in a post on social media.
“They also learnt about the different diseases and vaccines administered to poultry.”
All 15 women were awarded certificates of completion at the end of the training.
MAFSE said the Poultry Health Management Training was organized by Rural Resilient Belize in the Ministry of Economic Development and the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise and facilitated by Dr. Joe Myers and Sair Pech from the Belize Agricultural Health Authority (BAHA), along with Dr. Victor Gongora and Armando Cowo from the Belize Poultry Association.
