Teenage boy from Stann Creek charged with murder of Vanessa Acevedo

By Aaron Humes: Police have announced that a teenage boy, 17, of Stann Creek District, is the alleged assailant of Cocktail Bar owner Vanessa Acevedo, murdered early on Saturday morning.

Acevedo was closing the bar on Perez Road, Ladyville, along with another person when the gunman entered and demanded her possessions.

According to police, he shot her once in the chest as she moved to respond, before fleeing with a bag she was carrying whose contents have not been disclosed. Robbery is the suspected motive.
