Griga Conquerors drop Club Atlético 3-1, win NBB Amateur Interdistrict Competition

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Griga Conquerors defeated Club Atlético 3-1 and claimed the National Bank of Belize Amateur Interdistrict Competition (NBB-AIC) on Saturday night at the FFB Stadium in Belmopan. Harrison ‘Cafu’ Roches converted the game opener in the first half played under rain.

Curtis Valerio made it 2-0 at the beginning of the second half and hit another a while later for Griga to take a more than comfortable 3-0 lead.

Sean Caliz scored a last gasp goal in injury time for Atlético taking advantage of a defensive miscue by the Conquerors.

At the long whistle, the Griga Conquerors celebrated joyously the capturing the national amateur football crown.
