New Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis declares August 8 a public holiday

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: The newly elected Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis, Dr. Terrance Drew has declared today, August 8, a public holiday, Loop reports.

The Prime Minister says that the holiday was given as part of the celebrations of the victory of their party, the St Kitts-Nevis Labour Party (SKNLP) in the August 5 general election. 

The party won 6 out of the 11 constituencies, in an upset for the former administration. 

Dr. Drew was sworn in on Saturday as the 4th Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis.
