By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Special Envoy Rossana Briceño is distributing 5,000 pairs of shoes to children around the country coming just as the new school year is about to start.

The donation was made possible by “My Lights” and has been stored safely with the assistance of Dion Leslie from Leslie’s Imports, said a press release by the Special Envoy.

“When your resources increase don’t store up the wealth, spread a bigger table,” said Briceño.

“My gratitude to our private sector donor who presented us with the shoes and the partner that facilitated our distribution timeline. We are certain the smiling faces of children are the best rewards.”

“The shoes were donated to children across the country. These include donations to our government-operated children’s homes, to the Hostel, to various churches, community based organizations, municipal governments and Area Representatives,” said the press release.

Special Envoy Rossana Briceño encouraged al Belizeans, civil society and private sector, to work with the government and her office to create a conducive environment to safeguard the future of Belize’s children.

“Everyone one of us has a role to olay in our children’s development,” she said.
