Policeman charged for allegedly stealing cell phone from exhibit room

By Benjamin Flowers: Police have arrested one of their own and charged him for allegedly stealing evidence from the exhibit room.

Today, the Belize Police Department announced that Police Constable # 368 Julio Marino Sanchez, was formally charged with theft.

He is accused of stealing a cellphone from the Independence Crimes Investigation Branch (CIB). The incident occurred on Tuesday, July 26.

Sanchez was arrested after an internal investigation was conducted. He is expected to be arraigned in court sometime this week.
