‘Latched: A Society Supporting Breastfeeding’ – new photo exhibit by artist Briheda Haylock opens at The Bliss Center on Thursday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias:  A new breastfeeding exhibit opens on Thursday, August 11, at The Bliss Center in Belize City.

‘Latched: A Society Supporting Breastfeeding’ is a photo exhibit by artist Briheda Haylock.

The photo exhibit, which comes on the heels of Breastfeeding Week observed last week, documents “the community work of advanced lactation consultant and breastfeeding advocate Penny Casasola, OBE”, said the Institute of Creative Arts (ICA).

“Featuring photos of ten families, the exhibit’s aim is to draw societal support not only for mothers, but for families overall, and to promote sustainable breastfeeding environments,” said the ICA.

The Institute of Creative Arts said it thanks the exhibit funders: PAHO Caribbean, PAHO-WHO, UNICEF Belize, and the Ministry of Health & Wellness.
