By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) are monitoring a tropical disturbance in the Gulf of Mexico.
The NHC says development, if any, of this system is expected to be slow to occur during the next couple of days as it drifts west-southwestward over the northwestern Gulf of Mexico.
Locally heavy rains are possible along portions of the Texas coast through the weekend.
This system has a 10% chance of formation through the next 48 hours.
