By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Support the BBQ Fundraiser in Esperanza, Cayo on Saturday, August 13, to help 26-year-old Kashine Berry, suffering from a relapse of cervical cancer, to get her tests, chemotherapy, and radiation done.
If you like to collaborate, place your orders for the barbeque chicken calling Elaine at 602-3348 or Kashine at 626-2654.
The plate will include a leg or breast served with a tortilla, homemade baked beans, and coleslaw. Going for $8.00. Delivery is available.
Kashine was diagnosed with cervical cancer in May 2021. She underwent a radical hysterectomy and chemotherapy. However, she had a relapse this past May.
“[It’s going] a bit slow but we got to go with what we have,” said Kashine’s mother, Elaine Berry, of their goal to raise $30,000 to pay for Kashine medical bills.
Elaine said she’s taking her daughter to Campeche, Mexico, next Saturday, for her tests, chemotherapy, and radiation. She said she expects to be there for five weeks.
“I wanna thank each and every one of you guys that supports my fundraiser, everyone that prays for me or even sends me a message of kind words, just know it’s all appreciated,” said Kashine on social media.
Apart from the barbeque, the Berry’s are also doing a ‘Dalla Drive’ to help Kashine.
“Once Again asking for your humble support! This Saturday we gonna have our usual Bbq fundraiser and also a Dalla Drive! My family members are gonna be in town, mostly at the market area and Burns Avenue. EVERY DALLA COUNTS!! Help me fight this battle and come out on top victorious,” said Kashine.
If you’d like to help her with a personal deposit, you can do so at Kashine Berry’s account at Atlantic Bank – number 211446363.
“My sisters will continue the fund raising when we go,” said Elaine.
