By Breaking Belize News Staff: Fifty-five-year-old Germano Bol, the man charged for the traffic accident that claimed the life of 27-year-old Samuel Pop has been remanded to the Belize Central Prison.

Bail was denied in the first instance and he was remanded to jail until his next court appearance.
On Sunday, August 7, Pop,a villager of Frank’s Eddy, was driving on the George Price Highway between miles 42 and 43 when Bol, who was driving in the opposite direction, suddenly swerved into him, causing a crash. Pop was trapped behind the steering wheel of his heavily damaged vehicle and sustained severe head and body injuries.
Also traveling with Pop at the time was his common-law wife and brother-in-law, who both sustained injuries in the incident that were non-life-threatening.
Officers who responded to the scene said that it was apparent at the time that Bol was under the influence of alcohol.
