By Benjamin Flowers: On Saturday, August 13, police found a body in Belize City near the Conch Shell Bay fish market. Today police confirmed that the body was that of a homeless woman.
Commissioner of Police Chester Williams said that there was no known address for the woman nor was there a medical history for authorities to review.
“There is no sign of injury on the body so we are not suspecting foul play,” Williams said.
Despite the absence of injuries, Williams added that the department is still awaiting the results of a post-mortem examination, to definitively rule out foul play as the cause of death.
