501 Stars Academy play Honduras champs on Tuesday U-17 UNCAF Club Championship in Nicaragua

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belize City’s 501 Stars Academy play their second game on Tuesday in the U-17 Central American Football Union’s (UNCAF) Club Championship in Nicaragua.

The 501 Stars Academy today face Honduran champions AFFI Academia at 5:15 pm at the Nicaragua National Football Stadium in Managua,

501 Stars Academy, who, according to the FFB, gained the right to represent Belize as the last U-17 champions, lost their initial match 0-4 to Nicaragua’s Real Estelí on Sunday.

In the other Group A match on Sunday, AFFI Academia blanked Guatemala’s Xelajú 2-0.

In Group B’s opener Liga Deportiva Alajuelense of Costa Rica routed Nicaragua’s Zelaya Central 14-0. Group B also includes Panama’s Plaza Amador.

The 501 Stars Academy’s last group match comes up on Thursday against Xelajú at 5:15 as well.

The final, the third-place match, and the fifth-place game will be played on Saturday, August 20. Should 501 Stars Acadeny finish in the top three of the group, they will play another game on closing day. The fourth-place team automatically finishes last in the competition and doesn’t play on August 20.
