Annual scholarship program and school bag drive launched by St. Martin’s Credit Union

CONTRIBUTED: On Wednesday 10 August 2022, St. Martin’s Credit Union Limited presented scholarships totaling $10,000.00 to students for the academic year 2022-2023. This annual Scholarship Program is part of our give back to the community and is awarded to children of members who are in good standing. The scholarships were presented to students and parents by the Finance Officer Mr. Leon Palacio, Education Director Mrs. Nelida Sabido and General Manager Mr. Raymond Michael Tzul. Students’ parents accompanied them at the short ceremony held at the San Ignacio branch.

Saint Martin’s Credit Union strongly upholds the belief of investing in our youth to initiate positive change in our country’s future and prosperity. Scholarships are renewable yearly until student graduates. Congratulation is extended to each scholarship recipient wishing each student all the best in their studies.

On Saturday 13 August 2022, Saint Martin’s Credit Union also carried out its first ever School Bag Drive which provided 300 children with a school bag containing school supplies. The event took place in the parking lot of our San Ignacio and Benque Viejo del Carmen offices. Parents were lined up as of 7 AM with their child to receive their schoolbags, books and writing supplies. This drive forms part of our give back to the community and bags with supplies were given to children of members in good standing or any minor account holder.

Funding for these and other community activities are made possible from St. Martin’s Credit Union’s Development Fund which is topped up every year from profits made.
