By Breaking Belize News Staff: The National Meteorological Service forecasts continuing showery conditions, gradually improving as a tropical wave finishes crossing the country today.
Skies will be cloudy to overcast today with some showers, thunderstorms and periods of light rain over Central and northern Belize this morning, with showers decreasing this afternoon and evening. Skies tonight will be cloudy at times with showers mainly affecting the south.
High temperatures are 85 degrees along the coast, 88 degrees inland and 78 degrees in the hills. Tonight’s low temperatures are 80 degrees along the coast, 73 degrees inland and 68 degrees in the hills.
Winds are easterly to southeasterly at 10 to 20 knots. The seas will be choppy with waves of three to five feet. A small craft caution is in effect for occasional gusty winds and rough seas near thunderstorms, as well as a flood watch for flood-prone and low-lying areas. A strong thunderstorm warning is also in effect.
Tides will be low at 9:29 this morning and 8:45 this evening and low at 3:14 this afternoon. Sunset is at 6:16 this evening and sunrise on Friday at 5:37 in the morning.
Mainly fair weather returns on Friday with isolated showers and thunderstorms only.
