First ever Belize Jerk Fest to be held this weekend

Posted: Thursday, August 18, 2022. 10:59 pm CST.

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Those wishing to someday visit Jamaica to sample the rich authentic food and get a firsthand experience of non-stop Jamaican entertainment on stage now have the opportunity to do that this weekend at the first-ever Belize Jerk Fest.

That’s right you heard it, instead of traveling to Jamaica, for the first time Jamaica is coming to you at the Marion Jones Sporting Complex in Belize City on August 20th. The “jerk” in the celebrations signifies the signature Jamaican dishes that will be available at the event for purchase.

Two well know Jamaican chefs have already been flown into the country to cook up a storm of local Jamaican cuisines, ranging from Manish water soup, jerk fish, jerk pork, jerk chicken, escovitch fish, and other native Jamaican food.

For those who are only interested in sampling the food, gates will be opened at 4:00 p.m while entertainment will kick off at 9:00 p.m sharp and will include a lineup of several Jamaican artists and local Belizean artists and DJs.

Come out and feel irie with performances from well-known Dancehall entertainers such as Jada Kingdom, TeeJay, Masicka, and Jahshii, all of whom will be performing several of their hit songs.

If you are wondering whether Belizean talents have been forgotten, then rest assured that they have not. Local Belizean artists such as Yas Thalia, Stig the Artists, Papa John, King Rome, Sweet Pain Band, and several local DJs will also be gracing the stage.

General admission and presold tickets can be bought at BZ$100 or pay $130 at the door. Pre-sold VIP tickets are available for BZ$150 or $180 at the door. VIP tickets cover appetizers, private bar access, and VIP parking. Ultra VIP tickets are being sold for BZ$250. Those cover all-inclusive local bar and food, bottle service, and VIP parking.

Tickets can be bought at several outlets across the country, while direct charter service from the South is also available via Richies Bus Company.

Round trip tickets for Seine Bight and Placencia are available for $40 and leave at 4:00 p.m. Buses leave Hopkins and Dangriga at 6:00 p.m and cost $30 and $26 respectively.

With tons of ticket outlets available countrywide and even direct charter service to the entertainment grounds there is hardly any excuse that you could find to miss out on attending the first ever Belize Jerk Fest, and experience all things Jamaican right in your backyard.

We look forward to seeing you in attendance. For more information on the activities and lineup please feel free to visit our Instagram page and tickets can be purchased by visiting https://www.eventbrite.com/e/belize-jerk-fest-tickets-363594369547#.
