Khalid Usher earns bronze Men’s Open 93 kg Category at North American Powerlifting Championships

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Khalid Usher earned the bronze medal in the Men’s Open 93 kg Category at North American Powerlifting Championships in Panama City in Panama on Wednesday.

Usher is no ordinary powerlifter; he is also the president of the Belize Powerlifting Association. You can definitely say he leads by example.

“Our BPA president, our sturdy leg, Khalid Usher, was up against fierce competition today. He came out fighting and was rewarded with a bronze medal,” said Alida Wright Sharp in a social media post on Wednesday.

“Khalid Usher took bronze this evening! Jamaica was gold, Dominican Republic was silver, & tiny yet powerful Belize earned bronze!” wrote Tom Sharp on social media.

At the time, Belize had earned one gold and three bronze medals at the regional championships.
