Mexican Navy rescues 60 passengers from shipwrecked water taxi traveling from San Pedro to Chetumal

By Hugh O’Brien: Sixty (60) passengers that were on a water taxi are all safe after they were rescued by the Mexican Navy.

The water taxi left San Pedro on Wednesday afternoon enroute to Chetumal and got shipwrecked in the Chetumal Bay. After a scare of about four (4) hours, contact was made with the Mexican Navy using a satellite phone.

All passengers on board the water taxi are safe and there are no reported injuries.
