By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Nerry Violet Sho placed 5th in the Women’s 76 kg at North American Powerlifting Championships held in Panama City, Panama, on Wednesday.

Not to take anything away from Sho, she performed quite well in the representation of Belize giving her all in a very competitive field.

“My mind is all scrambled right now as the whole team has been busy from Monday, working together and supporting each other so Belize can put its best foot forward. Thank you all for the love. I placed 5th today,” Sho wrote on social media on Wednesday.

“It was a nice first experience, and as Ms. Audrey [Matura] said; my weight class was stacked with some very strong women – Arguably the most competitive weight class.

“I gave my all for my country, even through the many obstacles.

“Looking forward to next Nationals and the next NAPF.

“I’m Just getting started.

“P.S Typing this from the audience as I sit here doped up on pain medication screaming for Khalid as he fights for his medal,” Sho wrote. Khalid Usher, the president of the Belize Powerlifting Association, earned a bronze for his efforts.
