By Benjamin Flowers: The University of Belize has announced that face-to-face classes at the Belize City campus for today, August 18, have been cancelled due to inclement weather.
UB issued a notice this morning, following major flooding affecting Belize City due to a passing tropical wave.
“This means there will be no face-to-face classes at the Engineering Campus on Freetown Road, the Education Campus, and the Management Campus in West Landivar. The university made this decision to protect its students from the impact of current flooding across the city,” UB said.
The university asks Belize City students to participate in online classes as normal and to start working on the academic requirements for their classes as best as they can while the weather system passes.
Students are urged to check their emails and monitor the UB Facebook page for updates.
