Altitude still sitting atop the Premier League of Belize

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: After three weeks of action, Altitude FC is still the boss of the Premier League of Belize.

The Independence/Mango Creek club has nine points from three wins and has scored five goals while not allowing any yet.

National champs Verdes follow in second place with seven points from two wins and a draw. The Green Machine has scored three goals and, like Altitude, has not given up any goal either.

Wagiya is next in third place with two wins and a loss for six points. The Dangriga side is level in goals with three scored and three allowed.

Belize City’s Port Loyola is in fourth being the only team to have a win, a draw, and a loss for four points. Port is also even in goals with two at each end.

The San Pedro Pirates, Benque United, and Progresso FC have not had a good start. They are fifth, sixth, and seventh respectively with a win and two losses each. Pirates have the better goal differential with three goals in favor and three against. Benque and Progresso are 1-3 each.

The Belmopan Bandits are having their worst start ever with three losses and no points to show yet. What’s worse is that they have only scored once but have been nailed five times.

All are hoping on improving their lot this weekend.
