By Benjamin Flowers: The Government of Belize has announced another pending adjustment to the price of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) [Butane], coming into effect tomorrow.
A notice issued by the Supplies Control Unit (SCU) in the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise this morning, says that, as of Saturday, August 20th, 2022, the price of Butane will reflect a decrease of 11 cents.
The wholesale price per gallon in each district moved from $4.62 to $4.51. The price per pound in urban areas has gone from $1.51, while the price per gallon has gone from $6.22 to $6.11.
Meanwhile, in rural areas, the price per pound went from $1.53 to $1.42 and the price per gallon went from $6.32 to $6.21.
Supplies Control said that the price decrease resulted “primarily from a decrease in the acquisition price of propane.”
