Top two PLB clubs, Verdes and Altitude, clash on Saturday

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The top two teams in the Premier League of Belize, leaders Altitude and champions Verdes clash on Saturday at 7:30 pm at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence/Mango Creek.

The Belmopan Bandits, trying to get out of last place, face the San Pedro Pirates who find themselves in fifth place after three weeks of action at the Isidoro Beaton Stadium at 7:30 as well on Saturday.

The other two matches will play on Sunday.

Belize City’s Port Layola, currently in fourth place, will be defending the fort at the MCC Grounds against the Dangriga’s Wagiya, now in third place. The match is set for 4:00 pm.

At the same time at the People’s Stadium in Orange Walk, Progresso FC takes on Benque United. Both have three points from a win and two losses, and both also have a 1-3 goals record. Though they are tied in every respect, Benque is in sixth place and Progresso is in seventh.
