By Rubén Morales Iglesias: After the heavy rains on Thursday, the Ministry of Infrastructure Development & Housing (MIDH) has had to rush to fix two culverts on the Philip Goldson Highway, the latest being one by Mile 40 on Friday night.
“Quick response from MIDH along with contractor rectified problem,” said a source at the Ministry of Infrastructure Development.
The hole left by the collapsed culvert was filled as a temporary fix until the culvert is replaced.
Prior to that early on Thursday morning the MIDH had to do a similar fix by Biscayne at Mile 27.
The MIDH said that they are working on a project to replace the outdated culverts along the Philip Goldson Highway, but these two culverts collapsed before they could be taken care of.
