Altitude FC condemns attack on football player at Saturday night Premier League game

By Benjamin Flowers: Altitude FC has issued a statement of condemnation after fans attacked a Verdes football player at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence after last night’s game.

While the football club thanked its loyal supporters, it did not support bringing violence into the sport of football and said that it was “unfortunate” when its fans behave in a derogatory manner.

“It is equally unfortunate when security forces hired to maintain law and order fail to carry out their duty. Altitude FC will be working closely with the Premier League of Belize in identifying all parties involved in last night’s incident, and the proper actions will be taken to ensure that incidents like this do not happen again,” Altitude FC said.

The club maintains that it has and will continue to take every precaution necessary as it relates to the security of the players, officials, and fans.
