Miss Stann Creek Maslin Hanson secures commanding victory to become 2022 Queen of the Bay

By Benjamin Flowers: Miss Stann Creek, Maslin Hanson has distinguished herself from among six delegates to be named Queen of the Bay Designate 2022.

After three pre-judging events leading up to the 77th Queen of the Bay Pageant held at the Bliss Center for Performing Arts on Saturday, August 20, the five judges, which included a former queen of the Bay, decided that Hanson best displayed the qualities of a queen.

Delegates participated in a series of live events at the pageant, while the talent segment was recorded live in front of the judges last week and the recordings were played for the audience at the pageant.

Hanson dominated the pageant, taking not only the crown but all of the special awards which included Most Elegantly Dressed, Miss Eloquence, Most Talented, and Best Curtsey.

The delegates were scrutinized on their abilities to move with grace, speak with elegance, and present themselves worthy of the title of Queen.

Hanson will be officially crowned Queen of the Bay 2022 on September 10, by outgoing Queen Druewel Jones.
