Police making progress in Baracat Street robbery investigation

By Breaking Belize News Staff: Police say that they are making progress in the investigation of an armed robbery that took place in Belize City on Saturday night.

Forty-one-year-old Darwin Henderson reported to police that around 10:30 p.m. he was speaking with his son and his son’s friend when his son called out to someone behind him. Two men, one armed with a firearm ran up to them and one held the gun pointed at them while the other robbed them of their valuables.

Head of Communications for the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Fitzroy Yearwood, said that police do not have anyone detained for the crime, but that police are getting close.

“We believe that by the end of today, based on information gathered, that we should make some form of detention,” Yearwood said.

No one was injured in the incident.
