Verdes drop Altitude 1-0, takeover Premier League of Belize top spot

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: National football Verdes are now the new leaders of the Premier League of Belize (PLB) after slipping past subchampions Altitude FC 1-0 at the Michael Ashcroft Stadium in Independence/Mango Creek on Saturday’.

Jessie August, who was subsequently attacked by Altitude fans at the end of the match, scored the only goal of the game to give Verdes the 1-0 victory. The Green Machine now total ten points, one more than Altitude, and have taken over the number one spot in the PLB.

Preparing for the international Scotiabank Concacaf League match against Alianza on Wednesday in El Salvador, Verdes rested most of their regular starters.
