Belize Weather: Increase in showers expected as tropical wave approaches

By Breaking Belize News Staff: The National Meteorological Service projects an increase in shower activity today as a tropical wave approaches and crosses Belize later today into Thursday.

Skies today will be sunny with cloudy intervals. Showers and isolated thunderstorms start along the coast, then move inland this afternoon, with outbreaks to redevelop mostly along the coast tonight.

High temperatures are 88 degrees Fahrenheit along the coast; 93 degrees over inland areas and 82 degrees in the hills. Tonight, temperatures fall to 80 degrees along the coast, 73 degrees inland and 66 degrees in the hills.

Winds are easterly at five to 15 knots. The seas will be choppy with waves of three to five feet.

Tides will be high at 7:49 this morning and 9:19 this evening, and low at 3:23 this afternoon. The sun will set at 6:12 this evening, to rise Thursday morning at 5:37.

Skies are forecast to be cloudy with outbreaks of showers and thunderstorms developing mainly along coastal and northern areas of Belize.
