Belizean footballer Jayda Brown making herself at home at Campbellsville University

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Belizean football striker Jayda Brown is making herself at home at Campbellsville University in Campbellsville, Kentucky, in the United States.

“Campbellsville University is a widely-acclaimed Kentucky-based Christian university located in Campbellsville, Ky. and was founded in 1906,” says the university’s website.

“The university has off-campus centers in Kentucky cities Harrodsburg, Hodgenville, Liberty, Louisville, and Somerset with instructional sites in Elizabethtown, Owensboro, Summersville, one in Costa Mesa, Calif., and a full complement of online programs.”

Brown has just joined the Campbellsville Tigers and the Football Federation of Belize (FFB) posted her first pictures in the Kentucky university uniform. Jayda took out her Belizean flag and proudly posed with it as well.

Brown is a Belize Women’s National Team player and has also suited up for former National Amateur Women’s League champions Jewel Fury.

“Jayda making us proud,” said the FFB as it patted itself on the back for the ‘Get students into United States universities’ program which has taken off on a good foot.

“This year the football Federation of Belize, the Technical Department led by Phillip Marin and the women department started one of the biggest initiatives that will benefit women football in general,” said the FFB.

“All those female athletes who wish to become pro players and continue their education are now given the opportunity to do so by the hard work of the federation to get scholarships from universities in the United States.”
