Two men rob Chen’s Grocery Store in San Ignacio – surveillance footage lost due to system reset

By Benjamin Flowers: Chen’s Grocery Store on Joseph Andrew’s Drive in San Ignacio was robbed by two men earlier today.

The 53-year-old store owner told police that the men came in, one wielding a firearm, the other wielding a knife, and demanded money.

The duo stole cash and cellphones to a total value of $1,800, then made their escape.

Reports are that they ran towards 8th street where they dropped some coins and also fired a shot towards the dogs that were chasing them.

Reports also suggest that when police tried to review the surveillance footage of the robbery, they could not because the system was reset and all the footage was lost.

The victim has also reportedly refused to give a statement.
