Armed thieves take bicycles at Civic Center

By Aaron Humes: A quartet of armed thieves held up a group of friends at the park outside the Belize Civic Center on Tuesday night, stealing their bicycles.

The complainant, a nationalized Belizean pastor, and two other friends were conversing at the park when four dark-skinned young men appearing to be teenagers between 15 and 16 approached. One of them pointed a firearm at the group, demanding that none of them move.

His accomplices rode off on the group’s bicycles parked nearby onto the street behind the Civic Center, followed by the gunman on foot.

Police are now investigating.
