Belize’s News 5 Live receive 9 media awards from Caribbean Broadcasting Union

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: On August 16, 2022, the Caribbean Broadcasting Union (CBU) hosted its Media Awards 2021 in Trinidad and Tobago.

Great Belize Productions’ News 5 Live was honored with 9 awards.

Journalist Paul Lopez won for Best News Item and Financial Literacy Journalism.

Journalist Duane Moody won Best Investigative Report for a story on coastal piracy.

Journalist Marion Ali won for Coverage of People with Disabilities.

Camera operators, Rick Romero, Darrel Moguel, and Chris Mangar also won awards.

During the Caribbean Broadcasting Award for 2021, your Channel Five news team captured nine broadcasting awards.
