Lala Palma crowned Miss Bananera 2022

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Lala Palma was crowned as Miss Bananera 2022 on Friday night at San Juan at the end of Day One of the Belize Banana Festival in San Juan in the Stann Creek District.

Vilma Gomez was selected as runner-up.

The Banana Festival is being held under the theme: ‘Bananas! The bunch that builds the south’ and is hosted by the twin Banana Belt communities of San Juan and Cowpen.

Activities started on Friday and run until Sunday, August 28.

Apart from the Miss Bananera pageant on Friday, the Belize Banana Festival features a Banana Costume Parade and a Banana Cookoff Competition on Saturday and a Banana Cocktail Competition and a Greasy Pole competition on Sunday, plus performances by Dee Breezy on Saturday and Supa G on Sunday.
