Relatives of John McAfee “blindsided” by Netflix documentary claiming he fakes his death

By Benjamin Flowers: Relatives of the late John McAfee, the software mogul who was found hanging by his neck in a prison cell in Spain last year, say that they had no idea Netflix was making a documentary alleging that he had faked his death.

The Daily Mail reports that following the release of the documentary – ‘Running With the Devil: The Wild World of John McAfee’ several family members reportedly came out to say that they were ‘blindsided’ that the documentary was being made, let alone aired.

McAfee’s Shelley Uden, gave an interview to a Welsh newspaper, The Sun, saying, ‘We had no idea a TV documentary about John was being made. We have had no approaches from the production company so it has come as a surprise. But I am keen to see it. I am a pensioner and don’t have Netflix but I’ll find a way to watch it.’

During her interview, Uden said she was sad to hear of McAfee’s passing and that they may never know why he would take his own life.

McAfee, whose software company had been valued at $4 billion, was worth only $4 million when he died. His body remains at the morgue inside the Spanish prison.

The documentary aired last Wednesday, which featured claims from his estranged ex-girlfriend Samantha Herrera, that she had received a call from McAfee two weeks after he was pronounced dead.

She further alleged that he was in Texas, and confessed to her over the phone that he paid some people off to assist with him faking his death.
