By Rubén Morales Iglesias: It might not have been a victory but for the San Pedro Pirates to hold National Champions Verdes to a scoreless draw at the Norman Broaster Stadium in San Ignacio was a productive outing on Sunday.
Both Premier League of Belize (PLB) clubs tried their utmost but on Sunday things just didn’t turn out positive for either as they went blank for 90 minutes.
The 0-0 draw cost Verdes the top spot which was grabbed back by Altitude. The Mango Creek side now total 12 points after edging Wagiya 3-2 on the road in Dangriga. The champs are now in second place with 11 points.
Despite moving up to seven points, the draw pulled the San Pedro Pirates down from fourth to fifth place. That’s because Progresso won and moved up to fourth place.
