By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Ladyvile man was fined in court this week after being charged with drug trafficking but pleading to a lesser charge.
Twenty-five-year-old Triston Dominguez was brought before the court along with three others, all jointly charged with possession of controlled drugs with the intent to supply to another with respect to 170 grams of marijuana found during a police search.
Dominguez took responsibility for the marijuana, sparing the others from the charge, but pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of possession simplitica.
The court accepted his plea and after taking into consideration that he was a first offender, fined Dominguez $2,000, plus $5 cost of court.
Dominguez has until November 15 to pay the fine or he will spend a year in prison.
