Police detain two young men in the shooting of Dixson Ramirez

By Aaron Humes: Police say they have detained two persons believed to have attacked another, Dixson Ramirez, in a shooting incident on Pelican Street Extension overnight in Belize City.

According to police, they cornered one of the suspects after a chase through Pelican Street Extension, Iguana Street Extension, Racoon Street Extension, Central American Boulevard, and ultimately Seagull Street off South Creek.

They also recovered the firearm alleged to have been used in the incident.

A second suspect, a minor aged 16, was also picked up.

Ramirez remains hospitalized with gunshot wounds and Police investigations continue.
