By Breaking Belize News Staff: The trial of four men arrested by police last year on gang affiliation charges began in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court today.
John Grinage, 32; Sheldon Grinage, 29; Hubert Baptist, 32; and Brandon Baptist, 35 appeared in court represented by attorney Leroy Banner answering to a single charge of being a member of a gang.
The crown only called one of their 12 police witnesses, police officer Simone Hyde who is attached to GI3. However, the case was adjourned for September 19.
Since their bail was revoked, the group was remanded to the Belize Central Prison.
The men were also charged with the now late deceased, Joseph Winston James but he was gunned down on the city streets earlier this year.
The men were caught in August 2021, after posing in a video with unlicensed and prohibited firearms.
