Belize celebrates National Flag Day with ceremonies across the country

By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Today, Belize is celebrating National Flag Day in honor of our Belizean Flag.

As Belize prepares to celebrate the 41^st anniversary of Independence, flag-raising ceremonies were held across the country this morning.

The theme for this year’s September celebrations is “Valiant and Bold, Proud and Strong! Belize Rebounds @41.”

The Belize City Council commemorated the start of the 2022 September Celebrations with their Annual Flag Raising Ceremony.

Deputy Mayor Allan Pollard Jr. and Councilors shared messages of solidarity, strength, and perseverance as Belize celebrates 41 years of independence this month.

“We take this opportunity to thank the Scout Association of Belize, Girl Guides Association of Belize, Cindy the Violinist, and Father Brian Christopher for assisting in making this year’s ceremony another success. A special thank you is also extended to members of the House of Representatives Hon. Henry Charles Usher and Hon. Tracy Taegar-Panton who took the time to join us this morning,” the Belize City Council said.

The council encourages residents to engage and participate in the lineup of events for the September celebrations.
