By Rubén Morales Iglesias: The Toledo Coconut Growers Cooperative will now be using the Ministry of Agriculture grounds and facilities in Dump community, Toledo District.
The Toledo cooperative on Friday morning signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Agriculture, Food Security and Enterprise (MAFSE) that gives them use of the facilities.
MAFSE said the Toledo Coconut Growers Cooperative Society, which was registered since December 2021, comprises 24 members.
The Minister of Agriculture Jose Abelardo Mai was present for the occasion along with Minister of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour and Local Government Oscar Requena, MAFSE CEO Servulo Baeza, Registrar of Cooperatives Gareth Murillo, National Coordinator at GEF Small Grants Program UNDP Leonel Requena, Members of the Toledo Coconut Growers Cooperative, and Technical Officers from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Cooperatives Department and the Resilient Rural Belize.
