Burglar caught in the act remanded to prison for being unable to meet bail

By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Belize City man was remanded to the Belize Central Prison after facing a single charge of burglary on Friday.

Twenty-five-year-old Carlston Young Jr. allegedly broke into his neighbour’s house and was caught in the act before he could steal anything.

In court, he pleaded not guilty to the charge and since there was no objection to bail it was granted to him in the sum of $3,000 plus one surety of the same.

However, he was unable to meet his bail and was remanded to prison until he can do so.

His bail comes with the expressed condition that he not interfere with the complainant.

Young is due back in court on October 25.
