Wagiya hold Verdes to 2-2 draw in Dangriga in PLB Championship

By Rubén Morales Iglesias: Wagiya held Verdes to a 2-2 draw at the Carl Ramos Stadium in Dangriga in the sixth week of the Premier League Opening Season Championship on Sunday.

Wagiya took advantage of the home fort in the early going and had Verdes cornered as Cion Augustine unleashed his deadly fire power in the 9′ and 13′.

However, Verdes reacted fast as Paraguayan Luis Ibarra found the net in the 21′ to keep tge game within reach.

Trimayne ‘Pepa’ Harris, also known as Kashief ‘Pepa’ Gentle, secured the draw in the 78′.

The draw keeps Verdes in second place with 12 points, three points behind leaders Altitude.

They are two points ahead of Wagiya and the San Pedro Pirates who have ten each.

Wagiya, for their part, are in third place with ten points. Though the San Pedro Pirates have caught up with them in points and goal differential, Wagiya kept the third spot because they have scored more goals than the Pirates (9-6).
