By Breaking Belize News Staff: A Hattieville man was fined in court this week for words so insulting to his sister that reprinting them violates media codes of conduct.
Twenty-four-year-old Neville Somerville appeared in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, charged with the summary offense of insulting words.
He wasted no time in pleading guilty and was imposed a fine of $100 plus $5 cost of court, which he must pay by October 14 or face a month in prison.
The siblings reportedly began to argue over a damaged extension chord on Sunday, September 4.
