By Zoila Palma Gonzalez: Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center (NHC) are monitoring Hurricane Danielle and Hurricane Earl in the Atlantic.
The NHC says that Hurricane Danielle, a category 1 hurricane strengthened a little while moving toward the Northeast.
As of this morning, the center of Hurricane Danielle was about 690 miles northwest of the Azores.
Danielle has begun moving toward the northeast near 14 mph and this general motion is expected to continue with acceleration through Thursday.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 80 mph (130 km/h) with higher gusts. Danielle is expected to weaken a bit by Thursday.
Forecasters are also monitoring Hurricane Earl which was located about 485 miles (775 km) south of Bermuda.
On the forecast track, the center of Earl is expected to pass to the southeast of Bermuda late Thursday and Thursday night.
Maximum sustained winds have increased to 85 mph (135 km/h) with higher gusts.
Strengthening is forecast during the next couple of days, and Earl is expected to become a major hurricane late Thursday or Thursday night.
Tropical storm conditions are expected in Bermuda beginning Thursday afternoon.
Earl is expected to produce rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches (25 to 50 mm) across Bermuda through Friday.
