By Rubén Morales Iglesias: MSME Roadshow is in Belize City for three days from Wednesday, September 7, to Friday, September 9, at the ITVET Compound.

“Join us at the ITVET Compound for three days of activities to support your business!” said BELTRAIDE.

“On the Road in numbers… the #MSMERoadshow is an opportunity for you to learn and get information that will grow your business and secure success,” said Prime Minister John Briceño who has been pushing MSME Roadshow as part of his agenda.

The first-of-its-kind, National MSME Roadshow was launched by BELTRAIDE in conjunction with the Economic Development Council (EDC), through its technical secretariat, the Public-Private Desk in the Office of the Prime Minister, and the Investment Policy and Compliance Unit, with the support of strategic partners, including UNDP and the Mayors Association of Belize.

Today, the participants representing Medium, Small, and Micro Enterprises (MSMEs) are involved in the MSME Boot Camp looking at Entrepreneurship Lab/Design Thinking. The Boot Camp runs from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm.

For later in the day, the organizers planned an MSME Town Hall Meeting from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. They’ll be discussing the MSME and NIPS Strategy, Incentives, the Belize Agriculture Health Authority (BAHA), and Customs, among other topics.

On Thursday, the MSME Roadshow is having a Formalization Clinic from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. The Clinic is described as an informational session by key government agencies and funding opportunities by Financial Institutions.

The Final Day on Friday, September 9, will feature an MSME Showcase/Pop-Up Shop from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.

“Remember that three (3) women entrepreneurs from each stop will get the chance to win $2,500 by pitching their business,” said BELTRAIDE.

“Orange Walk entrepreneurs took advantage and came out to get their business on the #Road to growth,” said Prime Minister Briceño about the MSME Roadshow last stop.

According to the Prime Minister, 89 persons participated in the Day 1 Boot Camp, 58 enterprises in the Day 2 Formalization Clinic, and 37 enterprises in the Day 3 Pop Up Shops.

The next stop will be Punta Gorda from September 14-16.
